Immigration
The Sisters of St. Joseph of Orange’s commitment to our immigrant sisters and brothers comes out of our mission, “a participation in the mission of Jesus: to bring all people into union with God and with one another.” As our Congregational Commitment on Immigration affirms, we are “called to solidarity, to stand with the immigrant, we attend to their hopes and dreams, their sufferings and basic needs, their right to dignity, and their desire to contribute to the social fabric of all communities.”
We collaborate with local and national organizations in advocacy related efforts to bring about just immigration policies that protect all immigrants, provide a pathway to citizenship, promote family unity, and respect the dignity of our immigrant sisters and brothers.
We create opportunities to join others in being a prayerful presence and bring about support to our immigrant communities living in anguish and desperation due to harsh and inhumane immigration policies.
